Introduction
Guru Purnima is a very special day celebrated in India to show respect and love to all teachers (Gurus). It is also known as Vyas Purnima, in honour of Sage Ved Vyasa , the writer of the Mahabharata and one of the greatest teachers in Indian history. On this day, students thank their teachers for sharing their knowledge and guiding them in life.
This year, the Guru Purnima Celebration At SRI Campus promised to be a memorable event filled with gratitude and reverence. The Guru Purnima Celebration At SRI Campus included various activities to honour our teachers.
At Himalay Ayurveda Chikitsalaya and Mahavidyalaya, which is a part of SRI Campus, the Guru Purnima celebration was organized in a grand and respectful way on 10th July 2025. The program took place in the Library Hall and included pooja, speeches, cultural events, and a community lunch.

Preparation
The event was well planned by teachers and students together. A committee was formed to handle decoration, invitations, stage arrangement, and anchoring. Students helped decorate the library hall with flowers, posters of Gurus, rangoli, and lights. The stage was also decorated with pictures of Sage Vyasa and other respected teachers from Ayurveda and Indian culture.

Starting of the Program – Vyas Pooja
The Vyas Pooja during the Guru Purnima Celebration At SRI Campus was a significant highlight of the day. The program began at 9:00 AM with a spiritual ceremony called Vyas Pooja. This is a traditional ritual where we show our respect to Sage Vyasa, the first Guru. The pooja was done by Dr. Bhuvan Rawal, under the guidance of Mr. Krishnaprasad Jani. Everyone joined in prayer, singing mantras, and doing the Aarti together. The pooja reminded everyone about the importance of teachers in our lives. It also created a positive and holy start to the event.
Main Event – Sabha and Speeches
After the pooja, the main program started with a Sabha (gathering). The event was hosted by students. Many respected guests were present. The Chief Guest was Dr. Ketan Mehta, Principal of the College of Education. The welcome speech was given by Dr. Naveen Banarasse, Principal of Himalay Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya. Dr. Banarasse spoke about the value of teachers and how Ayurveda education is based on the Guru-Shishya tradition. He said that students should always respect their Gurus and follow the right path in life.
Then, the Chief Guest Dr. Ketan Mehta gave a motivational speech. He talked about how important it is to build a strong connection between teachers and students. He said that a good Guru not only gives knowledge but also helps students become better human beings.
Next, Dr. Bhuvan Raval shared his experience as a teacher. He recited Sanskrit shlokas about Guru Parampara and explained the spiritual role of a Guru as well as ushered everyone towards contributions of Sage krushn Dvaipayan Vyas a.k.a. Sage Ved Vyas. Dr. Deep Prajapati gave an inspiring speech too. He told students to work hard, stay humble, and always keep learning. Finally, Mr. Krishnaprasad Jani gave a powerful speech with teachings from both old scriptures and modern life lessons.
Cultural Program
The students gave beautiful performances that added joy to the event. Two dance programs were presented with devotional music. These dances showed the love and respect for Gurus. Along with dances, students gave speeches and poems** about Guru Purnima in English, Hindi, and Sanskrit. One student presented a touching poem called “Guru – The Guiding Light”. Another student told a short story about how a Guru helps his students even in difficult times. Performances during the Guru Purnima Celebration At SRI Campus showcased the students’ talents and their appreciation for Gurus. The cultural programs showed the talents of the students and their love for their teachers.
Teacher Felicitation

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks given by a senior teacher. He thanked all the guests, teachers, students, and support staff who made this event successful. Special thanks were given to the students who managed decorations, anchoring, and technical support.
The Sabha ended with everyone chanting the **Guru Mantra**:
“Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwara,
Guru Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah”*
This reminded everyone how a Guru is like God and deserves the highest respect.
Community Lunch
After the event, a lunch was organized for all students, teachers, and guests. The lunch was simple, tasty, and prepared with love. It gave everyone a chance to talk freely, share their thoughts, and enjoy the day together.
